Experience Madagascar’s Endemic Reptiles in a Natural Forest Setting

Peyrieras Reptile Reserve is located east of Antananarivo along National Road RN2, near the village of Marozevo, approximately 75 km from the capital. The drive takes around 2 to 3 hours and passes through lush highland scenery on the way toward Andasibe.

The reserve protects a small area of primary rainforest and is famous for its carefully preserved habitat, allowing visitors to observe wildlife in a natural environment. Species commonly seen include panther chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, colorful frogs, insects, and butterflies.

This tour is an excellent introduction to Madagascar’s unique biodiversity and is often combined with other eastern-route attractions such as Andasibe or Lemurs’ Park for travelers staying near Antananarivo.
